Leave room for the Story interface
Leave space around text, faces and product labels. Story controls, captions and stickers can cover parts of the image. Add the elements you plan to use in Instagram and check that important content remains visible.
Using the image in a video
You can import the downloaded JPEG into a video editor. Check whether the editor crops it again. This tool exports a still image and does not add animation, sound or a duration.
Photo specifications and the Story preset
Instagram’s photo-resolution guidance covers ratios from 1.91:1 to 3:4; it does not establish official requirements for this 9:16 Story preset. The 1080 × 1920 output is KiiMix’s choice. Check the actual Story publishing preview.
Frequently asked questions
What size will I download?
The Story preset exports at 1080 × 1920, a 9:16 ratio. This is KiiMix’s chosen export size. Check the preview in Instagram for the Story you are preparing.
Can I keep transparent areas?
Not in the current JPEG exporter. Transparent parts become white. Keep the source file if transparency matters to your design.
Can I reuse the feed crop unchanged?
A 4:5 crop will not fill the same 9:16 frame. Return to the source photo and reposition the crop so that important content survives.
