Specifications & output
Make image files smaller by adjusting JPEG quality while keeping the whole image. To remove parts of the image or change its aspect ratio, use the image cropper.

Reduce file size while keeping detail
Keep a copy of the original. Start at the default 80% quality, then check small text, hair and edges. Lower the quality if the result still looks clear. The percentage controls JPEG quality: 80% does not mean the file will be 20% smaller.
The longest edge is limited to 6000px; smaller images keep their dimensions. Use the cropper if you need a different aspect ratio or a fixed output size.
Check transparent backgrounds and sharp edges
All results are JPEG. Transparent backgrounds become white, so keep the original PNG if you need transparency. Photos usually work well as JPEG, but screenshots, logos and thin lines can show blur or compression marks.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the result larger than the original?
An image that is already compressed can grow when saved again, especially at a high JPEG quality setting. Compare the original and output file sizes in the results list before downloading.
Can I compress to a specific KB size?
There is no setting for an exact file size yet. Lower the quality, process again and check the result. The amount of detail in the image also affects its file size.
Are my images uploaded?
No. These image tools process files in your browser. Reloading or leaving the page clears the current editing session.
